LESSON 001

ABOUT THIS SERIES

Hello and welcome to Squash for beginners, now called START SQUASH. I am Phillip, an ex-professional squash coach, who now makes coaching videos as a hobby.

If you want to learn more about me and my other videos, you can watch THIS VIDEO.

Up until May 2019, I had been making videos only aimed at club players and many of are long, some over 20 minutes, but every single video in this series will be less than three minutes, some significantly shorter

The topics that I will be covering include equipment, rules, basic technique, tactics and practice/training exercises.

And talking about equipment, I am NOT sponsored by any manufacturer. I have no commercial agreements with websites, distributors or manufacturers, so anything I recommend will be because I think it's really good. There are no affiliate links in my videos or text descriptions.

Even though the videos are numbered sequentially you can watch them in any order you want, for example, if the topic of Lesson 006 is more interesting than Lesson 004, then watch that. Choose the topics that interest YOU.

If you have any questions about this series then please leave a comment on the video itself and I will do my best to reply as quickly as concisely and as clearly as possible.

If you have any questions about squash and please go to LESSON 002: NO SILLY QUESTIONS.

If you're fairly new to squash, please consider subscribing to my channel and click on the bell so you get notified when I release new lessons and videos.

And welcome to the squash community, you're going to have a lot of fun!

The video ends with a link to subscribe to my YouTube channel and links to 2 other videos that may interest you.

This website is static, which means it doesn't have a comment section like some websites. If you have any comments, questions, feedback, complaints or compliments, please leave them on the video's page itself. Alternatively, you can email me directly. The address is displayed at the bottom of every page.

To open the YouTube page for each video, click the YouTube text in the botton right of each video, once it is playing.

I built this website to make it easy for beginners and new players to squash to find free online lessons.

Nothing is better than having a lesson with a coach, but not everybody has that option.

The videos are part of a series that were originally called "Squash for Beginners", but in September 2019, I rebranded them "Start Squash".

Some people prefer reading articles to watching videos, so for each lesson, I have created a short text article that presents the same information.

Each video is quite short, most around 2 minutes, some are a little bit more.

The videos can be watched in any order, although there is a natural progression through the series. However, feel free to only watch the videos that interest you.
