LESSON 005

WEAR SQUASH GOGGLES

These are squash goggles. They are used to protect you from the ball and the racket.

Eye injuries within squash are incredibly rare, but you don't want to take any chances with your eyes.

They are not expensive and they are freely available.

The chances are you're surrounded by people who don't wear them.

You'll be surrounded by people who are constantly telling you how uncomfortable they are, how unnecessary they are, but don't listen to those people.

Go out, buy a pair, wear them and if you really really hate them, think carefully about that decision and then stop wearing them, but I wear them all of the time now and I recommend you do too.

If you're fairly new to squash, please consider subscribing to my channel and click on the bell so you get notified when I release new lessons and videos.

The video ends with a link to subscribe to my YouTube channel and links to 2 other videos that may interest you.

This website is static, which means it doesn't have a comment section like some websites. If you have any comments, questions, feedback, complaints or compliments, please leave them on the video's page itself. Alternatively, you can email me directly. The address is displayed at the bottom of every page.

To open the YouTube page for each video, click the YouTube text in the botton right of each video, once it is playing.

I built this website to make it easy for beginners and new players to squash to find free online lessons.

Nothing is better than having a lesson with a coach, but not everybody has that option.

The videos are part of a series that were originally called "Squash for Beginners", but in September 2019, I rebranded them "Start Squash".

Some people prefer reading articles to watching videos, so for each lesson, I have created a short text article that presents the same information.

Each video is quite short, most around 2 minutes, some are a little bit more.

The videos can be watched in any order, although there is a natural progression through the series. However, feel free to only watch the videos that interest you.
